Getting Started & Pre-Approval

What documents do I need to get pre-approved for a mortgage in Washington?

For a standard pre-approval in Washington, you'll need two years of W-2s or tax returns, recent pay stubs (30 days), two months of bank statements, a government-issued ID, and your Social Security number for a credit pull. Self-employed buyers add business returns and a profit-and-loss statement. DSCR and bank statement borrowers have different document requirements entirely — no W-2s needed.
